Corporate office branding
Here are 2 examples of how easy it can be to bring color and design to an office space. These two simple installations brings a new & exciting look to the typical corporate walls & entrance.
Glass entrance doors are covered with frosted vinyl that has been digitally die cut to specific design. This great effect creates privacy and keeps room and entranceway bright and open.
Digitally printed art on wall paper and installed as wall paper is a more permanent install than adhesive vinyl. there are many great textured options of wall paper to print on.

Now this, is LARGE FORMAT PRINTING!
Getting ready for a BIG party. Color X is currently installing super large graphics for the Pavilion for NY Sate Fair opening Aug. 26-Sept 6. We were involved from the start with architects & designers to turn the newly renovated Pavilion in to a graphically inspired space. The International Pavilion is inspired by large images of children and locations from all over the world. This is an amazingly challenging project that highlights the importance of contracting a highly skilled large format print/fabrication company with experience and can offer custom solutions for all challenges and have the insight to make it all work out.
One huge curve ball thrown was that as seen in first photo, initially there was no awning, this was to go up after the large graphics were in place. Well after printing & fabricating structure & installation method & machinery for this, we were met at the site with awnings already place. So how to hoist an 8'x almost 200' and over 600lbs graphic into position? With a lot of thought, skill, muscle , bravery and experience. Please follow blog to see video post of install and the other graphics that are installing before the opening.

Store Openings in Vegas
This major fashion retailer reached out to Color X to assist with the graphics for the grand opening of its latest store in Vegas. Although the store was on the opposite coast of Color X (NYC), it was handled as if it was around the corner. The Color X west coast install team was on site for the initial site survey and all measurements and field changes were quickly sent to the NYC headquarters. New layouts were made and sent to client reflecting on site changes. Upon approval art was produced and installed without a flaw to clients delight. The site survey prior to production is key, as many times sizing is off from original plans and details like mullions or hardware are not accounted for. Make sure paint is completely cured before installing graphics as the adhesive of graphics will not adhere to wall if paint is still not 100% cured. This avoids time delays & the cost of installing. Life is much easier on all when done right the first time!

NYC Exhibition Graphics
We love working on museum exhibits . There is something about the buzz of everyone working furiously to pull it off on time for the opening. There are so many different elements that go into coordinating the opening of an exhibit. Curators, designers, production, carpenters, painters, case makers, lightning, and us large format digital printers all make it happen. Those last minute changes to text or last minute approvals of art are always expected and always seem to appear. Or when the painted wall is still not dry! We have seen it all and somehow everything always works out.
A great look when using text, is using cad cut vinyl. This precisely cuts the letters out of the vinyl and is installed directly on wall by weeding out the background so only the letters are to be applied to wall. This gives a clean look with text being razor sharp for best readability. Best results are when text is taller than 1/4". Cad cut letters can also be applied to glass and are used with many retailers on windows.

Fabric Printing-- The Best Quality
Dye Sublimation Fabric Printing - The Best Quality
By Gary Teich
Article
There are three production methods for printing on fabric. Direct inkjet printing, screen printing, and dye sublimation. Each method will get the job done, but facts such as application, duration of use, indoor or out door, size, quantity, colors used, budget and others should determine what is the best method for the specific project.
Ink jet direct to fabric is an option for small quantities and indoor applications.
Screen printing or litho should be looked into when printing larger runs and can be more economical if art is 1, 2 or, 3 color. If the art is a photo image there will be a noticeable screen dot in the reproduction. This is usually not a great option for beauty or fashion, but may be acceptable for other industries or promotions.
Dye Sublimation offers the best quality image reproduction and the most durable. Another great advantage is the wide range of fabrics available to print. Printing on sheer fabrics creates a great look. The maximum width for dye sub printing is 10' and length can go much longer. Quality can vary among different suppliers, the technique and skill has major input in quality. There is truly an art and skill in producing great printed fabrics. For those who are not familiar, dye sub is printing on paper and then heat transferring on to fabric.
Tricks of the trade are the speed of the printing and transferring and the degree of heat used in the transfer.
The inks are fused into the fabric opposed to sitting on top of fabric as in inkjet or screening. This gives the fabric a softer touch. It also makes the fabric more durable as it can be washed and steamed. Some great applications can be custom pillows, couches, curtains, table runners, and many more. Fabric banners are also a great look for in store or window display, exhibition graphics, showroom graphics and events.
Color X, New York have been printing on fabric for over 15 years and can offer the right solution for each project.
