MoMA Exhibition Graphics

The Bahaus Lounge and Exhibition opens today at MoMA. Furnished with Bauhaus chairs, tables, couches, and other furniture, this lounge offers visitors a relaxing space to further explore the creative processes of Bauhaus artists. Visitors may consult a wide selection of books and catalogues, and enjoy screenings of documentary films that trace the history and development of the school, including Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet (1927) and the film of the reconstructions of Schlemmer's Bauhaus Dances of the 1920s (1982/84).

Large graphics were produced by Color X. The large entry wall is covered with Dreamscape digitally printed wall coverings. With many different textures and finishes available, this was printed on a matte finish. The virtually seamless mural combines with text and photo images for a great introduction. Other graphics were oversized fabric on stretch frames.

tips for installing large murals

When possible always take physical measurements or ask the pros to take a site survey. Site surveys allow for any other potential problems to be addressed before the install date. Many times walls will not be level and the larger the space the more off the measurements can be. Set up files with plenty of bleed to print to cover any areas that may fall short. Also try to keep outside area of image without text and solid backgrounds. This makes it easier to blend in any patches.
Our installers also have tricks like using heat guns to stretch vinyl to fill areas.
