 Large scale visual images are  great for branding environments, events, exhibits & more. In this space large format printing was used to show case the architects work as an exhibition. Color X provided the print & custom fabrication & installation of art.

Museum Exhibition Graphics Large Format

Check out the "PRINT/OUT"  new Exhibit at MoMA.  This exhibition examines the evolution of artistic practices related to the print medium, from the resurgence of traditional printmaking techniques—often used alongside digital technologies—to the proliferation of self-published artists’ projects. Bringing together some 70 series or projects drawn substantially from MoMA’s extensive collection of prints and books, with the addition of several important loans, the exhibition features major artists and publishing projects, such as Ai Weiwei, Trisha Donnelly, Martin Kippenberger, Daniel Joseph Martinez, Lucy McKenzie, Aleksandra Mir, Museum in Progress, Edition Jacob Samuel, Thomas Schütte, SUPERFLEX, Rirkrit Tiravanija, and Christopher Wool, among many others.

Large format digital wall coverings printed and installed by Color X , NYC. 

Over 5,000 sq. ft. of adhesive vinyl printed & installed. This was a challenging installation as the dots needed to align perfectly from panel to panel. To avoid  potential alignment problems files were prepared with one one row f dots overlap and upon install all aligned perfectly.

Spring 12 window large format graphics

Here is  a fresh look for Spring 12 windows of nationwide retailer. These large scale garlands are digitally printed using white printing direct. Color X then fabricated the final product by die cutting and sewing to create free flowing large scale graphics. 

Store Openings in Vegas

This major fashion retailer reached out to Color X to assist with the graphics for the grand opening of its latest store in  Vegas. Although the store was on the opposite coast of Color X (NYC), it was handled as if it was around the corner. The Color X west coast install team was on site for the initial site survey and all measurements and field changes were quickly sent to the NYC headquarters. New layouts were made and sent to client reflecting on site changes. Upon approval art was produced and installed without a flaw to clients delight. The site survey prior to production is key, as many times sizing is off from original plans  and details like mullions or hardware are not accounted for. Make sure paint is completely cured before installing graphics as the adhesive of graphics will not adhere to wall if paint is still not 100% cured.  This avoids time delays & the cost of installing. Life is much easier on all when done right the first time!

Even this veteran NYC traffic cop scratches his head in amazement of the size and quality of this newly printed and installed construction barricade sign.

Scott, who runs the Palm is also thrilled that all of downtown NYC can see the Palm is open during building maintenance. Printed on vinyl this large format signage is a great way to increase visibility.
Color X was responsible for site survey, design, printing and installation.

Store branding

This recent project involves printing large scale graphics for the branding of a department in large retailer. Large columns were wrapped with graphics as well as back wall and the backs of all rack displays. Printing and installation by Color X

Piecing it Together

this fun window is the result of great visual creativity from the visual and design team of major retailer. This concept creates a dramatic and impacting window display that goes with the concept of piecing it all together.
Graphics are printed direct and then digitally routed to allow piecing together to create multiple looks.

A winning concept

This project was featured on VMSD, with great feed back and results we thought it would be good to show again.
To create a high end "telescopic graphic" Color X fabricated die cut rings with magnets on inner rings to enclose digitally printed translucent inks on clear material.
Can be reused easily by inserting new graphic between rings.

custom printed wall coverings

This was a great project branding the corporate offices of major entertainment company in  NYC. The art was printed on a new superwide format wall covering. Most printable wall coverings are maximum of 4' in width and this project was printed and installed in 10' wide materials which led to minimum seams.

CLUB PROVOCATEUR

Just finishing off a project producing graphics for the opening of New York Citys hottest new club. Working closely with the design and builders, Color X printed large format graphics that bring elegance and hipness to this exciting new club. Printing dye sublimation large scale on fabrics brings intense color saturation and quality that really brings the art to life. The image is continued by dye sublimation printing on a different , and more durable fabric which is upholstered into the banquet seating. This dramatic imaging creates a really amazing space. AOL EVENT

Last night AOL held a spectacular event on the NYSE to celebrate AOL becoming an independent company from Time Warner, and Color X was there to help with their new branding. Super wide large format printed graphics were fabricated into free standing "walls" with new logos printed and placed onto the floor at the NYSE. These were later used as backdrops for bar areas.

this prime corner on 34th street is the perfect place to advertise for the holiday. The newstand on the corner was a major obstacle in installing these window graphics as a special lift was needed to angle above and towards windows. The owner of the newstand made it clear to us that his stand had been damaged in the past. He has pictures on his stand to prove. So with him watching every move we made we soared above the busy street of NYC for the install. Not only did the famous retailer love the graphics install so did our new friend at the stand. Mission accomplished.
